Recomended Golf Reading
In Search of Burningbush: A Story of Golf, Friendship and the Meaning of Irons
Author: Michael Konik
Michael Konik's memoir of a wonderful journey of golf discovery is a well-written book worth reading. The story
revolves around two golfing buddies, who know (and don't know) just enough about one another to agree to a
two-week golfing vacation to Scotland . Only after they decide to make the trip do they begin to discover how
different they are, and that only a love of the game connects them and keeps them on the same courses.
In Search of Burning Bush is an occasionally emotional personal memoir. It's heaviness is fortuitously balanced
by travel stories and descriptions of some of Scotland 's lesser know golf venues.
This book is formed around an interesting dynamic; one man, an emotionally wounded golf purist, and another,
a physically handicapped hustler that longs to experience golf in its pure environment. I found this book riveting
and highly enjoyable. I strongly recommend it, particularly for anyone with a love for the Scottish links.
