EUROPEAN TOUR: The Deutsche Bank Players' Championship of Europe
One week after feeling the disappointment of losing the Open Championship, Argentina's Andres Romero was back in the hunt for his first European Tour title. Romero started the final round with a 2 shot lead and quickly increased that lead with 3 birdies in the first 4 holes. Five clear as he came to the 9th, Romero made things interesting as his approach shot found the water and the resulting double bogey gave the rest of the field hope. Romero though was not going to lose this title and he played solidly over the closing holes before rapping up his maiden tour victory by holing a 25 foot birdie putt on the 18th to finish on 19 under-par 269 and a 3 shot victory over Denmark's Soren Hansen and England's Oliver Wilson.

PGA TOUR: Canadian Open
Thanks to a hole in one at the 4th hole, Jim Furyk was able to defend the title he won last year with a one shot victory over Vijay Singh. Furyk entered the final round 3 back of Singh, but birdies at the 1st and 3rd holes got him within one before the amazing hole in one gave Furyk the lead. Further birdies at the 10th and 11th stretched Furyk's lead to 3 at one point and he was still two clear as he played the last. Furyk though missed his 5 foot par putt, which meant Singh who was playing behind Furyk needed to make birdie at the 18th to force a play-off. Singh's approach landed 20 feet from the hole, but he was unable to convert the birdie putt, thus giving Furyk his second straight Canadian open title with a winning 16 under-par 268 total.

EUROPEAN LADIES/LPGA TOUR: Evian Masters
American Natalie Gulbis finally knows what it feels like to win, when she claimed her maiden victory by defeating Korean Jeong Jang with a birdie at the first extra hole. In difficult conditions Gulbis played superbly and looked set for victory in regulation until Jang birdied 3 of the last 4 holes to tie the young American on 4 under-par 284 and force a play-off. Third round leader Julie Inkster was still in with a chance until 3 bogies in her final 5 holes ended her hopes. Back to the par 5 18th they went and Gulbis hit two great shots to find the heart of the green as Jang's approach went over the back of the green. Jang then hit a poor pitch to about 10 feet as Gulbis putted down stone dead. Jang though could not hole her putt which left Gulbis with a simple tap in to claim her first winner's cheque on the LPGA Tour.

CHAMPIONS/EUROPEAN SENIORS TOUR: Senior Open Championship
Tom Watson won The Open title at Muirfield in 1980 and he was trying to add the Senior version this time around. Watson had the lead over Australian Stewart Ginn and Mark O'Meara heading into the back nine and when Watson made birdie at the 11th, as he did on the way to victory in 1980, Ginn made bogey on the same hole and the two shot swing gave Watson a comfortable lead over both players. As they got to the 18th tee Watson was 3 clear of both and looked set for an easy victory. Watson though drove into one of the deep bunkers on the left of the fairway and it took him two to get out. Now playing his 4th shot from the fairway and with O'Meara and Ginn facing 25 foot birdie putts, Watson missed the green to the right and it was still him to play his 5th shot before the other two putted. Watson held his nerve and putted up stone dead from the fringe, but that left O'Meara and Ginn birdie putts to tie Watson and force a play-off. Amazingly though both players left their birdie putts short and Watson was then able to tap in his double bogey putt to finish on level par 284 and secure his third Senior Open Championship with a one shot victory.

EUROPEAN CHALLENGE TOUR: FIRSTPLUS Wales Challenge
Colm Moriarty claimed his first win on the Challenge Tour with a 3 shot victory over Chile's Felipe Aguilar. With the event reduced to 54 holes after Thursday's play was washed out due to bad weather, Moriarty entered the final round tied with Argentina's Julio Zapata for the lead. It did not start well for Moriarty as he bogeyed his opening hole, but three birdies in the next 5 holes got him back on track. Zapata slowly slipped back into the pack and Moriarty sealed the win with a final birdie at the 15th to eventually finish on a winning 13 under-par 203 total.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Cox Classic
American Roland Thatcher claimed his second win of the 2007 season with a hard fought one shot victory over Australian teenager Jason Day. Thatcher started the final round 2 clear, but Day quickly joined him at the top with 3 birdies in his first 6 holes. Both players then went back and forth with each other for the rest of the round. Day eagled the 9th, before Thatcher eagled the 10th, but then Day made bogey at the 11th and Thatcher was back in the lead. Day made things interesting when he birdied the final hole, but Thatcher was up to the task and made his own birdie at the 17th to stay one clear and was then able to 2 putt the final hole for par to finish on 24 under-par 260 and take the winner's cheque.
